Georgie Dettmer is an award-winning playwright and actor from the East of England, with a particular interest in climate crisis theatre and the intersection between misogyny and tech. 

In 2024, she received the New Wave Prize from Bloomsbury Festival for her climate crisis romcom 'Attempts on a Birch Tree'. She has been commissioned by Offbeat Festival and Macready Theatre, and is a member of the Royal Court Intro Group for 2025. 

Most recently, she showcased her new political thriller, 'Are You Watching?' at Omnibus' Engine Room: Next Page and joined the Mercury Theatre Writing cohort. 

Georgie graduated from the Classical Acting course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and shot her debut feature, 'The Chronology of Water' in late 2024 (dir. Kristen Stewart).
